Background History

Swadesh Mirittaka is a voluntary developmental organization working in the coastal area of southern Bangladesh. With the initiative of some self-motivated and energetic youths, to bring lasting positive change in the lives of the poor has created the organization. ICDS believes in an integrated approach with bottom-up participatory management to respond to the felt need of the program participants. To address the emerging social problems like technological backwardness, lack of education, and environmental hazards, the organization has started its July 1st, 2007. It is actively involved in promoting human dignity, children's rights, gender equity, human rights, and entitlement. The general body comprises 21 members, and the Executive Committee (EC) consists of 7 members to ensure its functionality and effectiveness. The Executive Director is the chief of staff and s/he is responsible to the Chairman.

He also has a proven track record in building effective partnerships within and outside ICDS.
